We were commissioned by St John’s College at Sydney University to beautify their law library. Housed within one of Australia’s most beautiful buildings by the architect William Wardell.
The character of the room was dominated by existing utilitarian timber bookshelves and air-conditioning vents.
We proposed a beautiful and practical, budget-sensitive solution by retaining the existing bookshelves and adding an elegant stained oak decorative screen to the front of the bookshelves.
The design is both beautiful and practical, concealing LED lighting for illuminating the books, as well as housing the air-conditioning vents behind elegant panelled grilles within the plinth.
