Menai - Alterations and Additions

Holy Family Church Menai

Location: Menai, Sydney NSW

Photographer: Kieran Hookway

Project Type: Alterations and additions

The beautification process for Holy Family Church Menai commenced with the parish seeking concept proposals from three separate architects for the works.

The MJSA proposal was selected for its creative approach, maximising the enhancement and beauty of the space, whilst minimising unnecessary expense by working within the existing fabric of the structure.

Engaging a host of Artisans and artists both locally and internationally to create beautiful works including a hand carved marble rearedos, altar, ambo and baptismal font as well as new sculptures in marble, bronze and polychromed timber.

A church that was once renowned to be one of the least attractive in the Sydney diocese was described by Archbishop Anthony Fischer at the consecration mass, as having been transformed now into one of the most beautiful!
