Our Lady help of Christians Basilica Proposal

Location: Canberra ACT

This is a design proposal for the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians for Australia’s capital. Designed by Michael as part of his Master of Architecture, the design is located on a site originally set aside by the city of Canberra’s first master planning architect, Walter Burley Griffin, for such a Catholic cathedral. The proposal also lays out a plan for the urban extension of the town centre to provide additional mixed-use commercial and residential housing in multiple neighbourhoods, as well as the provision of grand and beautiful public spaces.
