Sydney is Beautiful - Street Level Urban Design Competition

WINNING DESIGN COMPETITION ENTRY, SYDNEY NSW

This Grand and visionary proposal is for the redevelopment of a decrepit inner-city Sydney neighbourhood. The design features a neighbourhood of mixed-use, medium-density urbanism allowing for a new train station, commercial Boulevard, and residential housing for around 20,000 people. The proposal also outlines a strategy for the building over of the 11-lane traffic snarl that cuts Sydney’s eastern suburbs off from Sydney Harbour and the inner city.

The ambitious proposal won first prize for the Sydney is Beautiful International Design competition, against more than 40 submissions from across the globe, including leading architectural practices such as Adam Architects, UK, and Historical Concepts, USA. The site also received the People’s Choice Award.
